چکیده

The effect of multiple scattering on the broadening and the shift of the spectral lines of light propagating in a medium is investigated within Wolf’s framework. The condition for no blueshift is derived. It is shown that under the same hypothesis the property DvN11@dN is satisfied. Moreover, the no blueshift condition has been found to be closely related to the no blurring condition. These results might be of relevance in the astronomical domain. @S1050-2947~98!01107-X#

Broadening of Spectral Lines Due to Dynamic Multiple Scattering and the Tully-fisher Relation

The frequency shift of spectral lines is most often explained by the Doppler Effect in terms of relative motion, whereas theDoppler broadening of a particular line mainly depends on the absolute temperature. The Wolf effect on the other hand deals with the correlation induced spectral change and explains both the broadening and shift of the spectral lines. In this framework a relation between t...

Shift of Spectral Lines Due to Dynamic Multiple Scattering and Screening Effect : Implications for Discordant Redshifts

The frequency shift of spectral lines from astronomical objects is most often explained by the Doppler Effect arising in relative motion and the broadening of a particular line is supposed to depend on the absolute temperature , pressure or the different line of sight velocities.. The Wolf effect on the other hand deals with correlation induced spectral changes and explains both the broadening ...

Dynamic Multiple Scattering, frequency shift and possible effects on quasars astronomy

The shifting of spectral lines due to induced correlation effect, discovered first by Wolf for the single scattering case which mimics the Doppler mechanism has been extended and developed further by the present authors to study the behavior of spectral lines in the case of multiple scattering and observed shifting, as well as broadening of the spectrum. We have explored Dynamic Multiple Scatte...

Investigation of the effect of source distance and scattering medium on spatial resolution and contrast of Gamma camera images [Persian]

By identifying the effect of any parameter such as distance, attenuation and scattering on the Line Spread Function (LSF), one can compensate the quantitative and qualitative destructive effect of such parameters by deconvolution method. Using a 99mTC line source, this study was performed on a single head ADAC SPECT system operating in planar mode. Variation of FWTM and FWHM and LSFs as a...

Large Amplitude Vibration Analysis of Graphene Sheets as Resonant Mass Sensors Using Mixed Pseudo-Spectral and Integral Quadrature Methods

The present paper investigates the potential application of graphene sheets with attached nanoparticles as resonant sensors by introducing a nonlocal shear deformation plate model. To take into account an elastic connection between the nanoplate and the attached nanoparticle, the nanoparticle is considered as a mass-spring system. Then, a combination of pseudo-spectral and integral quadrature m...
